Israeli Strikes Hit Eastern Gaza as Ceasefire Violations Intensify for 55th Consecutive Day

Gaza Herald – The Israeli occupation forces carried out a new wave of attacks across eastern Gaza on Thursday, launching airstrikes, artillery fire, and live ammunition toward multiple areas, marking the 55th straight day of violations against the ceasefire agreement. The escalation comes after a deadly day in which eight Palestinians were killed, including two children.

Fighter jets bombed eastern Khan Younis and eastern Rafah, while Israeli military vehicles opened fire along the northern perimeter. In Gaza City, Israeli forces detonated an explosive-laden robot in the Shujaiya neighborhood before withdrawing behind the so-called yellow line. Naval forces also fired on displacement camps west of the city.

The renewed aggression follows Wednesday night’s massacre in al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, where six people, including two children, were killed and 32 wounded after Israel targeted tents sheltering displaced families. Earlier in the day, two more Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in Gaza’s Zeitoun neighborhood.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, Israel has killed 368 Palestinians, the majority women, children, and elderly, and wounded more than 920 others. Despite international oversight, Israel continues its systematic violations through airstrikes, shelling, and the demolition of civilian homes across the Gaza Strip.
