Israeli Drone Strike Kills Palestinian as Violations Escalate Across Eastern Gaza

Gaza Herald – A Palestinian man was killed on Monday after an Israeli quadcopter fired live rounds at residents in eastern Gaza City, marking yet another breach of the ceasefire. The attack targeted al-Zaytoun area, where medical teams confirmed the man was fatally shot by the drone.

Israeli warplanes also launched a series of airstrikes on multiple neighborhoods in eastern Gaza, hitting areas near al-Shujaiya and al-Tuffah with missile fire. Artillery units simultaneously shelled eastern Khan Younis inside the so-called yellow line, while Israeli helicopters opened heavy fire across the region.

Further north, Israeli forces struck the outskirts of al-Bureij camp with artillery shells, adding to a day of widespread assaults across the Strip’s eastern front. These attacks come despite the ceasefire being in effect for nearly two months.

Gaza’s Government Media Office said the Israeli military has carried out 591 documented violations since the ceasefire began 50 days ago, killing 357 Palestinians, wounding 903, and conducting 38 arbitrary arrests. The violations included 164 incidents of direct gunfire, 25 incursions, 280 bombardments, and 118 home demolitions, all in clear defiance of international law.

The media office condemned the ongoing attacks and held Israel fully responsible for their consequences, calling on the United States, international mediators, and the UN Security Council to intervene immediately and enforce the ceasefire.
