Gaza Herald – A leading civil society figure in Gaza, Amjad al-Shawwa, said that Israel has been withholding essential winter aid promised under the ceasefire agreement, deepening the suffering of displaced Palestinians living in collapsing tents amid freezing storms.
Al-Shawwa said Israel has allowed only 30,000 tents into the Strip, despite current conditions requiring at least 300,000, a tenfold increase, to shelter families whose makeshift camps have been flooded and destroyed by more than a week of heavy rain and wind.
Officials say the crisis exposes yet another violation of the ceasefire, as Israel’s blockade continues to leave hundreds of thousands of Palestinians without adequate shelter, protection, or humanitarian support in the midst of an ongoing genocide.
