Ofer Prisoners Report Alarming Conditions: Doctor Provokes with “Who Wants to Die?”

Gaza Herald- Three prisoners at Ofer detention camp have reported severe mistreatment, including medical neglect, physical assaults, and daily intrusive raids, according to the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission.

Ahmed Adel Harish, detained since August 31, 2025, in Beitunia near Ramallah, suffers from severe stomach pain suspected to stem from a bacterial infection, but is reportedly receiving only painkillers.

The doctor frequently delays or fails to attend, while staff reportedly provoke detainees with threatening remarks from behind a window.

According to the detainee Ahmed Harish, the Israeli jailers conducted a group raid on his room, destroyed a nail clipper, beat the prisoners, and forced them outside while still restrained, holding them in the yard for hours.

Harish was reportedly punished for filing a complaint, following the involvement of a female soldier, through either administrative detention or humiliating measures.

Detainee Naji Awadallah (24) of Beitunia, held under a four-month administrative detention since August 28, 2025, described severe prison conditions including beatings, daily raids, poor food, unhygienic conditions, and systematic sleep deprivation.

Detainee Ezzedine Khaddour (20) of Buddo has a pre-existing foot injury and has been without medical treatment or medication for 70 days since his arrest.

Detention cells reportedly lack necessities, forcing detainees like former prisoner Khaddour, re-arrested on September 2, 2025, to drink water directly from bathroom taps.

The authority emphasized the severe humanitarian deterioration at Ofer Camp and called for immediate intervention to stop ongoing violations against detainees.
