Gaza Herald _ As the ceasefire continues to crumble under repeated Israeli violations, conditions on the ground in Gaza remain extremely volatile, with residents reporting rising fear, instability, and renewed attacks across several areas of the Strip.
Netanyahu Dismisses Palestinian Statehood as a Threat
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that he will never agree to the creation of a Palestinian state, describing it as an “existential threat” to Israel.
Speaking in an interview with the Israeli outlet Abu Ali Express, Netanyahu declared that he refuses to compromise on this issue even if doing so would be the key to unlocking a normalization deal with Saudi Arabia.
Even Saudi Normalization Won’t Change Israel’s Position
Netanyahu said that any future agreement with Saudi Arabia would require terms that he considers acceptable to Israel, stressing that the country will prioritize what he calls its “vital interests” over any diplomatic breakthrough.
“It’s possible that conditions could align,” he said, “but they must work for both sides. If it comes together, great. If not, we’ll protect our vital interests.”
Netanyahu’s statements reinforce the reality that Israel remains firmly opposed to any genuine path toward Palestinian self-determination. As regional leaders push for solutions to halt the bloodshed in Gaza and stabilize the Middle East, Israel’s rejection of Palestinian statehood continues to be a major obstacle standing in the way of lasting peace.
Netanyahu’s sweeping refusal to even consider a Palestinian state despite unprecedented regional pressure, a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and growing global demands for accountability underscores the core reality driving today’s violence: Israel is not seeking peace, but permanent domination.
By openly rejecting Palestinian sovereignty under any circumstance, even at the cost of losing a historic agreement with Saudi Arabia, Netanyahu is signaling that the suffering in Gaza is not an unintended tragedy but the direct result of a political project built on denying Palestinians their basic rights and future.
For millions of Palestinians who remain displaced, besieged, and under relentless attack, this stance reaffirms what they have long known: true safety, justice, and freedom will never come from Israeli goodwill, but from sustained international pressure and a global commitment to ending Israel’s system of apartheid and military rule once and for all.
