A New Attempt to Rewrite Gaza’s Future? Palestinians Reject U.S. Resolution

Gaza Herald_ Following the UN Security Council vote on the U.S.-sponsored draft resolution regarding Gaza, a resolution widely viewed as an attempt to impose foreign guardianship on a people living under occupation, Palestinian political voices and media circles are raising alarms over provisions that deeply undermine Palestinian sovereignty and the right to self-determination.

A Resolution With No Legitimacy and No Palestinian Mandate

Palestinian analysts, public figures, and media institutions stress that the resolution carries no legitimacy whatsoever, because it bypasses the Palestinian people and ignores their sacrifices, their national will, and their historical rights.
They argue that no externally imposed arrangement, one that does not represent Palestinians or reflect their collective struggle, can be accepted or treated as a substitute for their national project.

Armed Resistance Is a Legal Right , and No Foreign Power Can Decide Otherwise

Supporters of Palestinian rights emphasize that resistance to occupation, including armed resistance, is legally protected under international law.
They underscore that discussions about Palestinian weapons or resistance strategy are purely internal national matters, not subjects for international interference. Any attempt to regulate or dismantle resistance forces is seen as a direct effort to weaken the Palestinian right to defend itself.

“International Forces” Viewed as a Security Arm of the Occupation

There is also strong rejection of proposals to deploy an international force inside Gaza, particularly one tasked with security operations or with restricting resistance.
Palestinian experts warn that such forces cannot be considered neutral if their mandate aligns with Israeli objectives. Instead, this would repackage the occupation in a new form, giving it a multinational cover while continuing to undermine Palestinian autonomy.

A Call for Palestinian Unity Against External Impositions

The guidance stresses the urgent need for a unified Palestinian front, as the U.S. resolution threatens the entire Palestinian national identity and decision-making structure.

A cohesive stance, they argue, is the first line of defense against attempts to dictate Gaza’s fate from abroad or impose arrangements that strip Palestinians of their right to independence and sovereignty.
