Gaza Herald_ The Hind Rajab Foundation announced that it has submitted a criminal complaint to the Office of the Supreme Public Prosecutor in the Czech Republic against Israeli reservist soldier and rapper Noam Tzuriel, accusing him of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during Israel’s war on Gaza.
In its statement, the foundation said the complaint, filed by attorney Jan Taubl from a law firm in Prague, is based on an investigative report documenting Tzuriel’s role in destroying civilian facilities and glorifying these acts through his artistic work.
The foundation stated that Tzuriel is currently in the Czech Republic after performing a concert in Prague on November 13.
According to the investigation, Tzuriel served with the 699th Paratrooper Battalion of the 551st Brigade during Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza in October 2023. He was implicated in the controlled demolition of a civilian building in Beit Hanoun, near an UNRWA school, in November of the same year.
The foundation considered that this operation , which required full control of the site and the placement of explosives , had no urgent military necessity, making it a war crime under international law and Czech law.
The complaint is based on the principle of universal jurisdiction within Czech legislation and includes accusations of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war atrocities, in addition to charges of incitement to hatred and promoting or approving such crimes during musical performances in Europe.
The Hind Rajab Foundation called on Czech authorities to open an investigation, confiscate Tzuriel’s devices, and impose a travel ban or arrest him.
Natasha Brack, head of litigation at the foundation, said: “The large-scale destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gaza is the clearest component of genocide, and Noam Tzuriel not only participated in it , he turned the tragedy into entertainment.”
The foundation’s report noted that after taking part in Israeli military operations inside the Gaza Strip, Tzuriel released a song titled “Another Day in Gaza,” depicting Israeli soldiers as “the light,” despite the United Nations and major human rights organizations classifying Israel’s actions as genocide.
During a musical performance in December 2024, Tzuriel broadcast real footage of Israeli soldiers storming and demolishing Palestinian homes, performing lyrics that called to “turn Gaza into rubble,” which sparked widespread criticism for glorifying violence and transforming it into entertainment, according to the Hind Rajab Foundation.
The foundation stressed that combining Tzuriel’s roles as both a soldier and an artist amplifies the harm of his actions, adding that these performances serve as an extension of the crimes he committed on the ground.
It emphasized that Europe must not become a safe haven for perpetrators of atrocities, noting that Czech law grants authorities full jurisdiction to prosecute such crimes regardless of where they were committed.
This complaint is part of a broader legal campaign launched by the Hind Rajab Foundation to expose and prosecute war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated during Israel’s war on Gaza.
The foundation is named after a five-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed by Israeli forces along with six of her relatives when their vehicle was bombed as they sought shelter southwest of Gaza City on January 29, 2024.
