Gaza Herald- The suffering of hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen as a cold weather front, accompanied by heavy rainfall, adds another layer of danger and hardship. There are growing fears of flooding and the collapse of makeshift tents and shelters.
Many displaced families are sheltering in partially destroyed buildings, now at risk of collapse due to the downpours, while others have set up tents along the coast, facing the threat of strong tides washing them away.
These shelters are ill-equipped to withstand storms and rain, compounding the already dire humanitarian situation amid a severe lack of winter essentials such as blankets, fuel, and waterproof coverings.
The Gaza Civil Defence has issued urgent warnings, particularly to those sheltering in tents, advising residents to take precautions against flooding and structural failure, as the humanitarian crisis continues to deepen.
