Israel Destroys 90% of Gaza’s Vegetation

Gaza Herald – The mayor of Khan Younis says Israeli attacks have wiped out more than 90% of Gaza’s vegetation, erasing farmland and green areas across the Strip as part of the ongoing genocide. The destruction has also made it nearly impossible to reach landfills or manage waste safely.

Officials warn that the collapse of Gaza’s environment is accelerating the spread of disease, as damaged land, contaminated soil, and blocked waste routes create conditions for severe public-health crises.

The municipality says the scale of devastation is unprecedented, turning once-fertile areas into barren, toxic ground and deepening Gaza’s humanitarian collapse under siege.
