Gaza Herald – As displaced Palestinians cautiously return to northern Gaza, they are walking straight into death traps left behind by Israel’s war of extermination. Thousands of unexploded bombs and missiles now litter the ruins of homes and neighborhoods across the devastated Strip.
Doctors at Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital report a sharp rise in cases of civilians maimed or killed by hidden explosives. Among the victims are children, including siblings aged five and seven, torn apart by Israeli ordnance while playing near the rubble of what was once their home.
Experts estimate nearly 66,000 tonnes of unexploded Israeli weapons remain scattered across Gaza. At least 53 Palestinians have already been killed, and many more injured, by these silent killers buried beneath the debris.
Rescue teams warn that without international intervention and proper clearance efforts, every return home could become another grave, as Israel’s bombs continue claiming lives long after the explosions stopped.
