Over 10,000 Palestinians Still Unlawfully Held in Israeli Prisons Despite Ceasefire Deal

Gaza Herald – Palestinian authorities confirmed that more than 10,000 Palestinians remain unlawfully detained in Israeli prisons, even after the latest prisoner exchange under the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

The Ministry of Detainees said 1,968 captives have been released since the beginning of the deal, yet thousands, including women, children, and the elderly, continue to face inhumane conditions and systematic abuse behind bars.

Officials also reported that 77 Palestinian prisoners have been killed in Israeli detention centers over the past two years, amid widespread torture and medical neglect.

Human rights groups warn that Israel’s continued imprisonment of civilians, including 360 children, constitutes a grave violation of international law and underscores the ongoing genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people.
