Gaza Herald – Authorities in Gaza have issued an urgent call for an international war crimes investigation and the immediate lifting of the 18-year Israeli siege, following the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
The Government Media Office stated that ending the ongoing genocide in all its forms, including mass killings, starvation, bombing, and forced displacement, must be the first step toward justice and recovery for millions of Palestinians trapped in catastrophic conditions.
The statement demanded that the United Nations, the International Criminal Court, and global legal bodies take decisive action to hold Israeli leaders accountable for crimes against humanity and genocide, warning that political immunity for war criminals would be a “betrayal of international law and moral responsibility.”
It called for the formation of an independent international committee to investigate Israel’s atrocities, ensure the return and compensation of displaced Palestinians, and oversee a transparent reconstruction plan funded by Arab and international partners.
Authorities also urged the protection of medical, media, and humanitarian personnel under the Geneva Conventions, the immediate release of all Palestinian prisoners, and the evacuation of the sick and wounded, particularly children and cancer patients, for treatment abroad. “Justice begins with accountability,” the statement concluded, “and Gaza will not heal under siege.”
