Gaza Herald – In Gaza, the long-awaited ceasefire has brought a glimpse of relief, but not full happiness. Thousands of displaced Palestinians remain unable to return to their homes in the northern part of the Strip, their joy overshadowed by the reality of Israeli blockades that still choke movement across the enclave.
For many, the end of bombardment means little as long as they remain trapped, separated from what’s left of their neighborhoods, their streets, their memories.
Along Gaza’s coastal road, streams of people are gathering anxiously, waiting for word that it is finally safe to return.
Yet, as Israeli forces continue to block al-Rashid Street, the only vital route connecting the Strip, frustration and anger mix with fleeting hope. For Gaza’s displaced, true happiness will only begin when the road home is open once again.
