Gaza Herald-Â Gaza City is once again reeling from a series of devastating Israeli airstrikes that struck residential areas and a school, leaving families scrambling in panic and despair.
According to initial reports, three homes were hit in the al-Rayas residential block, an area where Israel had earlier issued evacuation threats. Residents had returned only briefly, desperately trying to recover what little remained of their belongings, when Israeli warplanes unleashed new bombardments. Several people were inside the houses at the time of the strikes.
Almost at the same time, a school in the crowded Shati refugee camp came under threat before being bombed. With nowhere safe to go, people were seen running in fear, children screaming as families tried to escape in chaos. Witnesses described the scene as one of total panic, as yet another supposed place of safety was turned into rubble.
The wave of strikes is part of what appears to be an intensified Israeli campaign across Gaza City, stretching from the north to the center and into the south. Residents say the systematic targeting of homes and community centers is aimed at forcing people out of what remains of their neighborhoods, pushing them deeper into displacement and uncertainty.
What was once a city of life and resilience is now being hollowed out by relentless bombardment. Each strike erases not just buildings, but memories, shelter, and the last remnants of normalcy for Gaza’s besieged families.
