GazaHerald – Israeli warplanes carried out two successive airstrikes targeting a building that housed the Modern Al-Jinan Kindergarten in central Gaza City on Sunday, injuring and killing several children, according to eyewitnesses and medical sources.
The first strike hit the roof of the building while children were still inside the kindergarten on the first floor. Survivors described scenes of panic and horror as dust and debris rained down on the classrooms.
A second strike reportedly targeted the same location near Al-Baladiya Park shortly afterward, compounding the destruction. Most of the casualties, according to initial reports, were children attending the kindergarten.
The twin strikes come amid a broader intensification of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip. At least 17 Palestinians have been killed since dawn in separate assaults, including in Deir el-Balah and the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, where three civilians reportedly died from Israeli shelling.
This latest bombing follows a deadly 24-hour period in which at least 115 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces. Among them were 79 people struck while seeking aid near the Zikim crossing in northern Gaza and 13 others killed in attacks on facilities operated by the Gaza Health Foundation.
