Gaza Herald – On the 648th day of Israel’s ongoing genocidal assault on Gaza, Palestinian lawmaker Faraj Al-Ghoul was killed in an Israeli airstrike that struck his home in Gaza City early Tuesday morning. The attack comes as part of a new wave of deadly bombardments that killed at least 30 Palestinians and left dozens more wounded across various parts of the besieged enclave.
The escalation comes just one day after Israeli forces killed at least 78 Palestinians in scattered air raids across the Strip, marking one of the deadliest 48-hour periods in recent weeks.
The assault on Gaza continues not only on civilians and resistance fighters but also on healthcare workers. In a statement to Al Jazeera, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health confirmed that Israeli forces had executed health workers after detaining them, accusing Israel of deliberately targeting UN experts because of their humanitarian roles.
On the diplomatic front, U.S. envoy Steve Wietkoff expressed optimism about the ongoing ceasefire negotiations, according to a Reuters report.
Meanwhile, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares called for an immediate end to the war and declared that Spain will not allow ships carrying weapons for Israel to dock in its ports, a rare stance of political accountability amid widespread international inaction.
