Gaza Herald – The Al-Sawahra tribal association located in the Jabal al-Mukaber neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem announced on Wednesday evening that it had received official notification of an Israeli court decision. The ruling mandates the complete deregistration of the organization from the registry of charitable associations and orders its full closure, effectively prohibiting it from continuing any charitable activities.
In a press statement released shortly after receiving the notice, the association stated that the judicial decision was issued based on a specific recommendation and request from Israeli intelligence services. This disclosure highlights the direct involvement of security agencies in the administrative and legal processes targeting civil society organizations within the city.
Consequently, the group has called upon all donors to immediately halt all bank transfers related to the organization. It further confirmed that its bank accounts and official social media pages would be closed without delay. All charitable operations linked to the entity are to cease immediately in compliance with the court’s injunction and the directives from the intelligence apparatus.
This move is part of a broader pattern of pressure faced by charitable associations in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Authorities have been subjecting these groups to continuous restrictions and security prosecution under the guise of legal procedures. These measures have resulted in the shutdown of dozens of similar organizations over recent years.
The systematic closure of these entities has deprived thousands of citizens of essential services previously provided by the charities. The actions taken against the Al-Sawahra association reflect the intensifying scrutiny applied to civil society structures operating in areas under Israeli control, limiting their ability to function and support local communities.
