Gaza Herald – The Metta Center for Palestinian Research and Information has documented 1,156 settler attacks across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of October. These incidents have resulted in the martyrdom of three Palestinians and injured seventy-seven others, according to data released by the center.
The reported violence encompasses a wide range of aggressive actions against citizens and their property. The attacks included physical assaults, theft, home invasions, arson, and the deliberate destruction of agricultural lands and crops. This surge in hostility coincides with heightened tensions and escalating attacks on Palestinian villages and towns throughout the region.
According to the statistics published by the Metta Center, which rely on data from the Settlement Monitor, the nature of these violations is diverse and severe. The majority of the recorded incidents involved beating and rioting, accounting for 507 cases. Theft was also prevalent, with 156 separate operations logged during this period.
In addition to physical violence and property crimes, the data highlights significant infrastructural and territorial aggression. There were 110 home invasions, 103 settlement activities, and 44 instances of arson. Furthermore, 41 cases of damage and vandalism to properties were recorded, indicating a systematic pattern of disruption and harm.
The report also details specific violent encounters and disruptions to daily life. Twenty-four shooting incidents were observed, alongside twenty-three closures imposed on areas. The destruction of agricultural resources remains a critical issue, with twenty-two cases of crop destruction and twenty instances of demolition and housing destruction documented.
Cultural and religious sites are also under threat, with fourteen cases of desecration of holy places reported. Eleven operations involving the installation of equipment were noted, along with a single incident of vehicular ramming. These figures illustrate the multifaceted nature of the violence faced by Palestinians in the West Bank.
The casualties and material losses inflicted by these attacks severely impact the livelihoods of Palestinian families. The timing of these events is particularly damaging as it overlaps with the olive harvest season. Farmers and their lands are being targeted, preventing access to agricultural fields and threatening the income sources that many families depend on for their basic needs.
The continuous attacks on Palestinian communities in various governorates of the West Bank have raised concerns about the expanding scope of damage. The combination of physical violence, economic sabotage, and displacement tactics poses a significant threat to the stability and survival of Palestinian settlements in the area.
