Five Palestinians injured in Jenin, Ramallah during Israeli raids

Gaza Herald – Five Palestinian citizens were injured on Tuesday evening during separate Israeli military raids in the West Bank, affecting Al-Yamun west of Jenin and the area around Ayn Ayoub roundabout west of Ramallah. The Palestine Red Crescent Society confirmed that three individuals sustained injuries after being struck by an Israeli military vehicle during a raid on Al-Yamun town. They were transported to Jenin Governmental Hospital, where medical staff noted that one patient suffered fractures in both feet.

According to local sources, two other citizens were injured by rubber bullet fire near the Ayn Ayoub roundabout west of Ramallah. This incident occurred alongside severe injuries reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health during a broader military incursion into Ramallah city. The ministry stated that a young man sustained serious wounds from live ammunition, while a 14-year-old boy was shot in the upper thigh with live rounds.

The ministry further reported that dozens of people suffered from suffocation symptoms due to tear gas exposure during the same operation in Ramallah. The five casualties were distributed between the Jenin and Ramallah governorates, highlighting the ongoing daily nature of these military incursions across various towns and villages in the region. Red Crescent data indicates that injuries ranged from fractures and bruises resulting from vehicle strikes to those caused by rubber bullets.

These attacks occur amidst repeated Israeli military operations in the West Bank, where towns and villages face similar quasi-daily procedures. Rights organizations have documented a rise in injuries caused by vehicle strikes and rubber bullets in recent months. Field reports suggest that the Israeli military utilizes armored vehicles during these raids, leading to collision-related injuries as seen in Al-Yamun.

Activists note that military checkpoints and closures complicate access for the injured to reach hospitals, exacerbating their suffering. Jenin city and its camp remain among the areas experiencing frequent incursions, which consistently result in injuries and arrests. Rights institutions are calling for urgent action to protect civilians and document violations, including the specific incidents of vehicle strikes in Al-Yamun, amid what they describe as international silence regarding these continuous assaults.
