Gaza Herald _ Despite international calls for humanitarian relief, Gaza’s entire healthcare system has been systematically engineered into a state of structural collapse, leaving millions of Palestinians trapped in a permanent medical catastrophe. Recent assessments from human rights and international medical organizations confirm that not a single hospital in the Gaza Strip is fully operational.
Out of 37 hospitals across the enclave, only 20 are capable of offering even rudimentary, partial care, a direct consequence of Israel’s ongoing blockade, targeted military assaults, and enforced starvation of basic medical supplies, fuel, and equipment required during this genocidal war.
The physical survival of remaining facilities is threatened by continuous military harassment and supply blockades. According to Medical Aid for Palestinians, key healthcare projects have been completely derailed; plans for a vital neonatal intensive care unit at Kamal Adwan Hospital were forced into suspension after Israeli forces advanced on the facility with heavy gunfire, while rehabilitation programs at the European Gaza Hospital had to be relocated due to persistent military pressure.
The World Health Organization reports that essential diagnostic tools, surgical equipment, and basic pharmaceuticals are completely exhausted, forcing medical staff to operate without anesthesia, antibiotics, or functional sterilization systems.
The deliberate obstruction of humanitarian aid outside Gaza’s borders serves as a primary tool in dismantling Palestinian health infrastructure.
TONS of critical aid, including hospital beds, life-saving medicines, and fuel shipments needed to run emergency generators, remain arbitrarily blocked at border crossings by Israeli authorities.
With over half of essential medicines out of stock, specialized care has virtually ceased to exist: cancer patients are left without chemotherapy, kidney disease patients face fatal gaps in dialysis, and thousands of amputees and trauma victims are denied basic rehabilitation or prosthetic care.
This artificial medical paralysis represents an intentional policy designed to make the Gaza Strip entirely uninhabitable. Rebuilding the health sector requires far more than repairing bombed infrastructure; it demands an immediate end to the blockade and the total restoration of unconditional access to medical supplies.
As Gaza’s surviving hospitals continue to operate under extreme resource starvation, millions of Palestinians remain trapped in a system where preventable illnesses and treatable injuries are transformed into slow, deliberate death sentences.
