Gaza Herald – Hamas said on Tuesday that the Israeli strike on a café at Gaza’s western port, which killed six Palestinians, including a child, and wounded 14 others, represents a deliberate escalation aimed at undermining the fragile ceasefire in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Movement condemned the attack as a deliberate act of escalation against civilians, saying it demonstrates the Israeli government’s continued pursuit of military attacks and its efforts to undermine the ceasefire agreement.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said an Israeli drone struck a café inside Gaza’s western port on Tuesday evening, killing six Palestinians, including a child, and injuring 14 others.
Hamas said the timing of the attack, following recent meetings in Cairo and ongoing mediation efforts, raises serious concerns that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is seeking to derail negotiations and obstruct efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement.
The Movement said the targeting of Palestinian civilians represents a direct challenge to regional and international efforts to prevent further escalation and stabilize the situation.
Hamas also said it remains committed to efforts to maintain the ceasefire and implement the agreement, pointing to its recent meetings with US envoy Jared Kushner and other mediators as evidence of its stated position.
The Movement called on the US administration, mediators and guarantors of the agreement to pressure Israel to halt its attacks and comply with its commitments, warning that continued violations could further undermine the ceasefire and deepen the humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians in Gaza.
