‘The Spanish People Will Never Forget You’: Sánchez Replies to Gaza Girl

Gaza Herald _Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has responded to a video message from a young Palestinian girl in Gaza who thanked him for his support of the Palestinian cause and asked him to share her message with the Spanish people.

On Sunday, Sánchez posted a video on his Instagram account addressing the child, identified as Layan, after she presented him with a mural painted by a Palestinian artist on the wall of a destroyed home in Gaza.

In his message, Sánchez thanked Layan and spoke directly to the children of Gaza.

“I want to tell Layan and all the children of Gaza and their families that the entire Spanish society hears you, sees you, loves you, and will never forget you,” he said.

He added, “I hope the day will come soon when Gaza’s children can return to drawing in their schools without fear.”

Layan later shared her joy in a video after receiving the Spanish prime minister’s response, describing it as a meaningful moment following her message from Gaza.

Layan’s message and Sánchez’s response have resonated far beyond social media, symbolizing the human connection that persists despite war. For many in Gaza, the exchange offered a rare moment of hope and a reminder that their voices continue to reach audiences around the world.
