Gaza Herald _Four siblings from the Abu Latifa family have successfully passed Gaza’s 2026 General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) exams, in a story that reflects the determination of Gaza’s students to continue their education despite the exceptional conditions caused by the ongoing war and displacement.
The four siblings, children of Khaled Abu Latifa, achieved the following scores:
* Alaa Khaled Abu Latifa: 94.4%
* Mohammed Khaled Abu Latifa: 87.7%
* Abdullah Khaled Abu Latifa: 84.3%
* Talat Khaled Abu Latifa: 80.9%
Their achievement quickly gained widespread attention across social media, becoming one of the most inspiring success stories following the announcement of the Tawjihi results. It came after a school year marked by unprecedented challenges for students across the Gaza Strip.
The four siblings and their family have been living in displacement after their home was destroyed during the war. News of their success sparked widespread celebration on social media and was highlighted by several news outlets as a rare moment of joy amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
The 2026 Tawjihi results in Gaza followed an exceptional examination cycle held under the continuing impact of Israel’s military campaign, which has severely disrupted every aspect of the education system. Hundreds of schools and universities sustained varying levels of damage, while thousands of students continued their studies under harsh conditions, including displacement, the loss of family members, repeated electricity and telecommunications outages, and a severe shortage of educational resources.
Despite these obstacles, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced the exam results on Friday morning. Alongside the list of successful students emerged dozens of inspiring stories, including high-achieving children of those killed in the war, students who studied from displacement shelters or damaged homes, and families celebrating the success of multiple siblings.
