Palestinian Health Ministry Urges International Action After Gaza Hospital Strike

Gaza Herald_The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza on Friday condemned the continued targeting of healthcare workers and medical facilities, calling for an immediate end to Israeli attacks on the territory’s health sector.

According to the ministry, an Israeli quadcopter drone dropped an explosive device on Kamal Adwan Hospital on Friday afternoon, injuring two hospital staff members despite their presence inside the facility’s designated green zone.

In a statement, the ministry said the repeated targeting of hospitals and medical personnel endangers the lives of healthcare workers and patients alike while further undermining Gaza’s already fragile healthcare system and its ability to provide lifesaving medical services.

The ministry called on the United Nations, international humanitarian organizations, and other relevant bodies to take urgent action to protect medical facilities and healthcare workers and to help end what it described as ongoing violations against Gaza’s health sector.

An Israeli drone strike targeted Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza on Friday, injuring several hospital workers despite the ongoing ceasefire, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which described the attack as part of a broader pattern of assaults on Gaza’s healthcare system.

The strike hit the hospital in Beit Lahiya, where medical sources said at least six people were injured. Three civilians were wounded inside the hospital courtyard, while three maintenance workers were injured nearby after an Israeli quadcopter drone dropped an explosive device. The incident occurred inside the facility’s designated Green Zone, an area under Israeli military control.

Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure has been left in near collapse after months of Israeli attacks. Thousands of patients requiring specialized treatment outside the Strip remain unable to leave because of Israeli restrictions on medical evacuations, worsening the humanitarian crisis.

According to the latest figures released by Gaza’s Government Media Office, Israeli forces have destroyed 34 of Gaza’s 38 hospitals since the start of the war. Only four hospitals remain partially operational, all functioning with severely limited capacity due to extensive damage and critical shortages of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment.
