Israeli Military Steps Up Ceasefire Violations in Eastern Gaza

Gaza Herald– The Israeli military intensified its violations of the Gaza ceasefire on Saturday, marking the 274th day since the agreement took effect, by carrying out a series of demolitions and heavy gunfire targeting areas east of Khan Younis and Gaza City.

According to our correspondent, Israeli forces carried out four consecutive controlled demolitions in the eastern parts of Khan Younis while Israeli tanks opened heavy fire across the area.

The correspondent added that an Israeli quadcopter drone dropped explosive devices north of the Bani Suheila Roundabout in eastern Khan Younis, as Israeli tanks continued firing intensively toward eastern neighborhoods of both Khan Younis and Gaza City.

Israeli military vehicles also intensified gunfire around Al-Hashimiya School and Al-Mahatta Park in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood of eastern Gaza City. Meanwhile, quadcopter drones targeted residential homes near Salah al-Din Street in the Shujaiya and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods.

The correspondent noted that Israeli drones continued flying over several parts of the Gaza Strip as military operations remained ongoing.

The Israeli military has continued to violate the ceasefire agreement, which entered into force on October 10 of last year, through ongoing military operations and attacks.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said that a number of victims remain trapped beneath the rubble or lying in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews remain unable to reach them.

According to the ministry’s latest figures, 1,092 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, while 3,507 others have been injured, and 799 bodies have been recovered.

The ministry’s cumulative toll since the start of Israel’s military campaign on October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,118 Palestinians killed and 173,615 injured.
