Gaza Herald – A total of 237 trucks carrying commercial goods, humanitarian aid and fuel entered the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Abu Salem crossing on Thursday, November 5, while the Zikim and Kissufim crossings remained closed, according to Gaza’s Border Crossings Authority.
The authority reported that the shipments included 196 commercial trucks, 29 humanitarian aid trucks and 12 fuel trucks.
Of the fuel shipments, eight trucks carried diesel designated for institutions, while four transported liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
According to the authority’s cargo breakdown, 160 trucks carried food and grocery supplies, 54 transported consumer goods and household items, nine delivered shelter and relief materials, and two carried medicines and medical supplies.
The commercial shipments included 39 trucks carrying vegetables, 29 transporting frozen foods and 24 loaded with other food products.
Another 17 trucks carried clothing, 17 transported vegetable oils and 16 delivered cleaning supplies.
The shipments also included 12 trucks of fruit, 11 carrying instant noodles and snacks, 10 transporting flour and wheat, and four trucks each carrying charcoal, citrus fruits and eggs.
Other commercial goods included shoes, raincoats, plastic sheeting, carpets, diapers and dates.
Only 29 Trucks Carried Humanitarian Aid
The authority said the humanitarian aid shipments included 10 trucks carrying flour and wheat and another 10 transporting food supplies for the World Food Programme (WFP).
Seven additional trucks carried raincoats, while one delivered medicines and another transported medical supplies.
The arrival of the shipments comes amid severe humanitarian needs across the Gaza Strip, where Palestinians continue to face shortages of essential supplies and restrictions on the movement of goods through border crossings.
Although 237 trucks entered Gaza on Thursday, the authority’s figures show that only 29 were classified as humanitarian aid shipments, with most of the incoming vehicles carrying commercial goods.
