Hamas: Settler Attacks Escalate in West Bank and Jerusalem

Gaza Herald – Hamas reported that during the past 24 hours, settlers carried out a series of attacks in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem. These incidents targeted the Al-Aqsa Mosque, olive pickers, and Palestinian property, resulting in injuries to farmers and the detention of women.

According to Hamas, the attacks occurred under the protection of occupation forces. The violence aimed to disrupt the olive harvest season and seize agricultural produce. In Nablus, settlers prevented residents of Ortah from accessing their lands and attacked farmers in Oudla and Beit Furiq.

In Yitma, five farmers were injured after being beaten and sprayed with pepper spray in the Hawuz area. In Ramallah and al-Bireh, attackers threw stones at pickers in Tarmasiya, injuring one man. They also raided lands in Barka and Atara, stealing crops.

Hamas stated that Israeli troops fired tear gas canisters in Ein Yabrud as settlers entered olive fields in Mukhmas near Jerusalem. In Salfit, settlers attacked farmers in Yasuf and Deir Istiya, forcing them to leave orchards and seizing equipment.

The Yasuf municipality said settlers stole an olive harvester belonging to Maamoun Ma’oun Isa and batteries from machines owned by Rafiq Jasser Abdelfattah and Ibrahim Bayar Hamouda. In Deir Istiya, settlers blocked harvesting in the western face area.

In Az-Zawiya, Palestinian women were detained while picking olives. In Bethlehem, crops were stolen and branches of an ancient tree were broken. In Kfar Qaddum, settlers restricted farmers in the Sham face area. A man was beaten in Khader.

In Masfer Yatma, settlers released livestock among homes in Khirbat al-Qawas and Khirbat al-Fakheit. In the northern Jordan Valley, they erected tents and flags in Einun. Others invaded Halaq al-Ruman in Deuk al-Tahta.

Hamas reported that settlers damaged homes and electricity networks in Birin’s Wadi al-Awour. In Hamrash, they conducted provocative tours. In al-Mughayer, a settler poisoned sheep, raising fears of false accusations against locals.

Israeli media cited the closure of roads between Deir Balut and Burqin following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Fedael settlement. Hamas warned these attacks threaten Palestinian livelihoods and land ties amid the harvest season.
