Gaza Herald – Four citizens were killed and others injured in an Israeli drone strike on a loading point west of Khan Younis, raising the post-ceasefire death toll to 1,488. The incident occurred on Sunday evening as Israel continued attacks across the Strip despite the one-year anniversary of the truce agreement.
A military drone targeted a cargo site in the southern Al-Buraq area, located west of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza. Some injuries sustained in the strike were described as critical by local observers reporting from the scene.
Three victims were initially transported to Nasser Medical Complex, with the casualty count rising to four after further assessments. Concurrently, Israeli artillery shelled eastern areas of the Source town in central Gaza, marking another phase of ongoing hostilities in scattered regions of the territory.
These developments coincide with the first anniversary of the ceasefire deal entering into force. Despite the agreement, Israeli military operations persist, resulting in continuous casualties among civilians and combatants throughout the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources reported that the number of martyrs since the cessation of hostilities reached 1,488, while the injured totaled 5,281. Additionally, 836 bodies had been recovered, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health in Gaza on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday morning, medical authorities stated that hospitals received seven martyrs, including one who died later from wounds, and 28 injured individuals over the previous twenty-four hours. These figures preceded the evening’s drone attack.
The cumulative total since the start of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, stands at 74,377 martyrs and 175,398 injured. These comprehensive numbers do not necessarily include victims from the latest strike issued after the statistical report.
