Gaza Herald – Former Shin Bet head Ronen Bar intends to file a lawsuit against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The legal action follows what Bar described as a smear campaign by the prime minister regarding responsibility for the October 7 attacks.
Channel 11 reported that Bar will sue Netanyahu for defamation. This move comes after repeated accusations by Netanyahu blaming Bar for failing to receive prior warnings about the assault on Israel.
In his complaint, Bar is demanding the opening of security session protocols held before the attack. He seeks to allow the Israeli public to see details of these meetings honestly and without bias or omission.
The lawsuit also calls for the disclosure of testimonies and documents related to information presented to Netanyahu before the October 7 strike. Witnesses from Netanyahu’s office and government assistants may be summoned.
Bar accused Netanyahu of incitement against him. He claimed the prime minister releases partial documents and displays them to the public. Bar insisted he warned Netanyahu before the attack but was ignored.
