Gaza Herald – Several Palestinian prisoners from Gaza were injured during an Israeli crackdown at Negev Prison about two weeks ago, including a detained doctor who was hit by three rubber bullets, the Asra Media Office said Wednesday.
According to the office, another prisoner suffered fractured ribs after being severely beaten with batons during the raid.
The office said Israeli prison forces unleashed dogs on the detainees and forced them to lie face down before beating them, leaving several prisoners injured and suffering severe psychological distress.
The Asra Media Office described the reported attacks on unarmed detainees as a serious violation of the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law, accusing Israeli authorities of failing to protect prisoners’ dignity and physical safety.
It called on international and human rights organisations to intervene urgently, investigate the reported abuses and hold those responsible accountable.
The office also held Israeli authorities fully responsible for the lives and safety of Palestinian prisoners from Gaza.
