Presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov stated in press remarks that Putin initiated the call to share perspectives on the results of the visit by American envoys. He described the hour-long discussion as constructive and highly candid, noting it covered the situation along the front lines.
Ushakov explained that Putin provided Trump with an objective and detailed analysis of the current conditions at the combat fronts. The Russian leader reiterated his claim that his forces are advancing along the entire line of contact, asserting that control over the Donbas region is merely a matter of time.
The advisor added that Putin highlighted what Americans could realistically do to quickly end hostilities, though he did not provide specific details on these potential actions. During the call, Putin emphasized that Russia has no hostile plans toward Europe, aiming to reassure Washington about Moscow’s strategic intentions.
This dialogue follows a meeting last Saturday where Putin received US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner before they traveled to Kyiv. The unprecedented visit included meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss peace terms.
