Gaza Herald – Israeli forces continued bloody attacks across the Gaza Strip on Monday, carrying out artillery shelling and live fire in multiple areas despite the ongoing ceasefire agreement, a day after a series of airstrikes killed at least 18 Palestinians, including women and children.
According to local sources, Israeli artillery targeted the eastern outskirts of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, while illumination flares were fired over the area and low-flying drones hovered above the western parts of the city. Israeli military vehicles also opened fire east of Gaza City, northeast of Al-Bureij refugee camp, and southeast of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
The renewed attacks came after one of the deadliest days since the ceasefire took effect.
On Sunday, Israeli air strikes killed 18 Palestinians, including three mothers and three of their children, in attacks that struck homes, tents sheltering displaced families, civilian vehicles and public gathering points across the Gaza Strip.
In Gaza City, six Palestinians were killed in two separate attacks in the western Al-Rimal neighborhood. Four victims were recovered after an Israeli strike targeted a civilian vehicle near the Sharia Court, while two others were killed when a tent housing displaced civilians opposite Al-Nour Mosque on Al-Thawra Street was bombed.
In central Gaza, brothers Mohammad and Hazem Jabr were killed after an Israeli drone struck their vehicle on Salah al-Din Street in Deir al-Balah.
Elsewhere in Deir al-Balah, an Israeli helicopter attack hit a residential apartment in the Al-Masha’la area, killing elderly resident Kamal Abu Muailiq (Abu Nabhan) and his wife and injuring several others.
In western Gaza City, Abdullah Adnan Abu al-Tif, his wife Abeer Kamal Kazem Anan, and their child Azzam were killed when an Israeli helicopter targeted their apartment in Burg al-Sousi. Rescue teams later recovered the body of a fetus from the rubble, bringing the death toll from that attack to four.
In Mawasi al-Qarara, northwest of Khan Younis, an Israeli strike on Al-Hams family apartment killed Mahmoud Zaki Al-Hams, his wife Fatima Bahloul, and their young son Ahmed.
Another Israeli drone strike near the Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital in Jabalia refugee camp killed Mohammad Hani Hussein (Al-Ar) and wounded several others.
Children were also among those injured when Israeli forces struck a mobile phone charging point inside the Ard Al-Tayyiba displacement camp in Mawasi Khan Younis.
Earlier the same day, Mohammad Abd Abu Ras, who had reportedly been released from Israeli detention only a week earlier, was killed by Israeli fire in the Old City of Gaza.
Local sources also reported continued Israeli artillery shelling around the Dawla Junction south of Gaza City’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, accompanied by the advance of Israeli tanks and gunfire toward tents sheltering displaced families in Abu Marahil Camp.
Heavy shelling was also reported in eastern Gaza City, eastern Khan Younis and northwestern Rafah.
Despite the announced roadmap for implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces have continued daily air strikes, artillery attacks, demolitions and restrictions on humanitarian access throughout the Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10, 2025, has risen to 1,240 Palestinians killed and 4,076 injured, in addition to 804 bodies recovered from under the rubble.
The ministry added that the overall death toll since the beginning of the Israeli genocide on October 7, 2023, has reached 73,365 killed and 174,185 wounded, underscoring the continuing humanitarian toll despite the ceasefire.
