Israel Kills Palestinian Fisherman in Gaza Amid Ongoing Ceasefire Violations

Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces continued violating the Gaza ceasefire for the 223rd consecutive day on Wednesday, carrying out air strikes, artillery shelling, and live fire attacks across multiple areas of the besieged enclave.

Local sources reported that Palestinian fisherman Mohammed Shamlakh was killed by Israeli naval fire off the coast of Gaza City early Wednesday morning, in the latest attack targeting fishermen despite the truce agreement.

Israeli aircraft also bombed a home belonging to the Rizq family in Gaza City’s al-Nasr neighborhood shortly after midnight, while artillery shelling targeted eastern areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Israeli military vehicles opened fire east of Khan Younis amid intense surveillance drone activity across the Strip. Additional artillery shelling struck Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.

Before midnight, two Palestinians were wounded after Israeli aircraft bombed the vicinity of Street 5 junction in Khan Younis. Another Israeli strike targeted a residential home in al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Israel has continued to violate the ceasefire agreement through repeated air and artillery attacks on civilian areas, including displacement camps, alongside demolition operations inside the so-called “Yellow Zone” and ongoing restrictions on humanitarian aid, commercial goods, and civilian travel.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire came into effect on 10 October 2025 has risen to 882 Palestinians, with 2,605 injuries and 776 bodies recovered from beneath the rubble.

The overall death toll from Israel’s genocide on Gaza since 7 October 2023 has now reached 72,774 Palestinians killed and 172,707 injured, according to official Palestinian figures, reflecting the catastrophic human cost of the ongoing genocide.
