Gaza Health Ministry: Only 420 Patients Evacuated Out of 21,500 Need Cases

Gaza Herald – Gaza’s Ministry of Health announced that only 420 patients have been evacuated for medical treatment outside the Gaza Strip over the past six months, out of more than 21,500 patients in urgent need of care, highlighting the severity of the ongoing health crisis.

In a statement released on Saturday, the ministry said that the average number of patients allowed to travel does not exceed 70 per month, describing the figure as extremely low compared to the growing number of critical cases, particularly in the absence of an effective mechanism to ensure the urgent evacuation of intensive care and life-threatening cases.

The ministry condemned what it described as “misleading narratives” promoted by some media outlets, accusing them of attempting to distort facts and absolve Israel of responsibility for obstructing the travel of patients and the wounded. It stressed that such claims lack credible evidence and serve to mislead public opinion.

According to the statement, restrictions on patient movement remain the main factor behind the deterioration of health conditions, with thousands of patients left on long waiting lists without access to necessary treatment.

The ministry added that its medical teams, along with referral committees and international organizations, continue to work under extremely complex humanitarian conditions to save lives and reduce suffering.

It called on media outlets and the public to verify information carefully and avoid spreading unsubstantiated claims, warning that misinformation only contributes to obscuring the reality of the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza’s healthcare system.
