Gaza Herald- The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced an increase in the number of casualties resulting from the ongoing Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, reporting that 9 people were killed and 19 others injured over the past 48 hours.
In its daily statistical report, the ministry stated that ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach a number of victims trapped under rubble or lying in the streets, due to extensive destruction and ongoing security risks. As a result, the actual death toll is expected to rise as rescue and recovery efforts continue.
According to the data, since the announcement of a ceasefire, a total of 628 people have been killed and 1,686 injured, in addition to 735 bodies recovered. This reflects the continuing humanitarian impact despite the declared truce.
The ministry added that the cumulative toll since the start of the assault on October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,095 fatalities and 171,784 injuries, marking one of the deadliest escalations in the history of the Gaza Strip. It also warned of the potential collapse of the healthcare system under ongoing attacks and severe resource shortages.
