MSF Warns Gaza Faces Humanitarian Catastrophe Amid Aid Restrictions

Gaza Herald – Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has issued an urgent warning about the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as Israeli-imposed restrictions continue to block critical medical and relief supplies. The warning comes just days before the March 1, 2026 deadline for 37 NGOs to cease operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

MSF affirmed its commitment to stay and deliver medical services “as long as possible” despite mounting pressures.

The organization said that Israeli restrictions have severely limited the flow of life-saving aid, creating “deadly consequences” amid deteriorating health and living conditions and rising casualties from ongoing violence. MSF Secretary-General Christopher Logier stated that medical teams are operating in a “progressively constrained environment,” with hundreds of thousands of patients requiring urgent surgical, medical, and psychological care, and tens of thousands in need of long-term treatment.

MSF noted that U.S.-led peace initiatives have yet to improve the entry of essential supplies. According to the organization, Israel continues to impose barriers that prevent water, shelter, and medical care from reaching Gaza. Recent months have seen a marked reduction in the volume of aid delivered to the enclave.

Logier emphasized that MSF programs constitute an “irreplaceable lifeline,” calling on Israeli authorities to allow wide-scale humanitarian access and urging the international community to ensure Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are not abandoned to their fate. The organization also highlighted a coordinated online campaign allegedly promoted by the Israeli government aimed at “smearing MSF and hindering healthcare delivery.”
