Gaza Herald- United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stressed that the protection of civilians in the Gaza Strip remains an urgent humanitarian priority as conditions continue to deteriorate, calling for safe and uninterrupted access for humanitarian assistance to reach those in need.
UNRWA said on its official website that safeguarding humanitarian personnel and protecting aid facilities and infrastructure are vital to sustaining essential services, including primary healthcare, education, emergency relief, and food assistance for the most vulnerable families.
It added that it is continuing its operations in the Gaza Strip despite major challenges, fulfilling its UN mandate to deliver assistance to hundreds of thousands of refugees who depend on its services.
The UN agency urged the creation of a safe environment that allows humanitarian teams to operate without impediments, stressing the need to protect civilians and ensure the sustained delivery of life-saving aid to people in need across the Gaza Strip.
