Gaza Herald – The Gaza Civil Defense Department announced today that all of its vehicles have ceased operations due to a critical fuel shortage. This has severely impacted their ability to carry out essential humanitarian missions, including body recovery and hazardous material removal.
In a brief statement, the department explained that the lack of fuel has rendered their vehicles immobile, preventing the continuation of rescue efforts. The shortage is particularly concerning because it complicates responses to emergency calls, especially given the ongoing weather conditions that demand high operational readiness.
The department urgently appealed to international organizations and humanitarian bodies to provide immediate fuel supplies. This would enable the continued operation of essential rescue and recovery services in the besieged Gaza Strip, where the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen.
This latest setback came amid tight Israeli restrictions on fuel deliveries, further exacerbating the dire conditions for Gaza’s residents, who are already grappling with a catastrophic humanitarian crisis.
