Gaza Herald – Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire in Gaza for the 95th consecutive day, launching renewed air and artillery strikes across multiple areas while winter storms worsened conditions for the two million displaced.
Field sources reported that Israeli helicopters fired on northern neighborhoods of Rafah early Wednesday, alongside a series of air raids targeting western parts of the city, terrorizing residents. Artillery strikes hit northeastern Khan Younis and eastern Al-Bureij refugee camp, while low-flying Israeli helicopters hovered over southern Khan Younis.
Last night, Ahmed Raed Abu Hussein, a young man in Jabalia camp, succumbed to injuries sustained from Israeli gunfire, highlighting ongoing daily violations. Since the ceasefire began on October 10, hundreds of breaches have been documented, including live fire, airstrikes, artillery shelling, and low-altitude flights, resulting in at least 450 deaths and 1,236 injuries.
The humanitarian situation has worsened due to severe winter weather. In the past two days, seven Palestinians died from collapsing buildings damaged by prior Israeli attacks or exposure to the cold, while hundreds of thousands remain in dilapidated tents, many of which were destroyed by heavy rain and strong winds.
Over the two years since the Israeli genocide began on October 7, 2023, over 71,000 Palestinians have been killed and 171,000 wounded, most of them children and women, with nearly 90% of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure destroyed. The UN estimates reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion.
