Gaza Herald—The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned that children in Gaza continued to live in dire conditions due to Israeli restrictions on humanitarian aid.
The agency stressed that children should feel warmth, proper nutrition, and adequate safety to have a chance at a secure future.
UNRWA highlighted that essential aid remains stuck outside Gaza because of the ongoing blockade, preventing critical supplies from reaching those in need.
The agency affirmed that it, alongside other relief organizations, maintained readiness to expand aid distribution immediately if restrictions were lifted.
Amid severe winter weather, thousands of displacement tents were damaged or destroyed, forcing children and families into unsafe shelters. A seven-day-old infant recently died from the extreme cold, illustrating the deadly consequences of inadequate protection.
Despite the ceasefire that began on October 10, 2025, the humanitarian crisis showed no significant improvement. Israeli noncompliance with the agreement, combined with winter storms, continued to threaten vulnerable populations, including over 71,000 fatalities and massive infrastructure loss from the previous two-year genocide.
