Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces advanced with tanks, military vehicles, and bulldozers near Al-Durra Hospital in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City and shelled the area, striking Gaza Martyrs School, which was sheltering displaced families. Local residents reported a large number of fatalities and injuries as desperate distress calls were made from inside the besieged site.
Witnesses said Israeli tanks fired at least two shells directly at the school building, killing and wounding civilians, including children. Ambulances reached the area but have not been allowed to enter the school until now, leaving the wounded trapped inside. Those who reached hospitals were transported by civilians under fire, not by emergency crews.
Shelling later resumed on the same school as civil defense teams struggled to evacuate victims amid continued restrictions. Injured civilians, including children, were taken to Al-Ahli Arab Hospital by residents, while eyewitnesses warned that many martyrs and wounded remain inside the school amid ongoing Israeli occupation attacks on civilian shelters in eastern Gaza.
