Second Infant Dies Freezing Inside a Flooded Tent in Gaza

Gaza Herald – A second baby girl has died today from freezing inside her rain-soaked tent, as the Israeli occupation continues blocking the entry of prefab shelters and lifesaving aid for displaced families trapped in flooded camps. Medical sources confirm that the infant joined 8-month-old Rahaf Abu Jazar, who froze to death earlier this morning in the storm-stricken Mawasi area of Khan Younis.

The polar storm has battered Gaza since dawn Wednesday, submerging thousands of tents and sweeping through multiple displacement zones with relentless rain, fierce winds, and dangerous flooding, conditions expected to worsen through Friday night.

This unfolding tragedy comes amid the ongoing genocide that the Israeli occupation has waged since October 7, 2023, backed by U.S. and European support. The onslaught has included mass killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and arrests, defying global appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the atrocities.

The genocide has left more than 241,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, most of them children and women, alongside over 11,000 missing and hundreds of thousands of displaced families enduring famine, disease, and lethal weather with no shelter or protection.
