Gaza Herald – Another Palestinian child has been killed in Khan Younis after an unexploded Israeli munition detonated in a residential area, according to medical staff at Nasser Medical Complex.
The incident comes just hours after a similar explosion claimed the life of another child from al-Astal family in the same region, highlighting the deadly legacy of Israeli bombardment even after the bombs stop falling.
Human rights groups estimate that more than 20,000 unexploded Israeli bombs, shells, and missiles remain embedded across Gaza following two years of genocide-level assault, turning neighborhoods and roads into lethal minefields. Aid organizations warn that these remnants pose a catastrophic threat to displaced families returning home, with international demining equipment still blocked from entering the Strip by Israel.
The danger is expected to grow as hundreds of thousands move through shattered neighborhoods daily. Officials stress urgent international intervention is needed to clear unexploded ordnance, before more children are killed simply by walking outside.
