Gaza Herald_ Gaza Civil Defense has warned that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip remains dire and unchanged two weeks after the ceasefire, stressing that no tangible progress has been made on the ground.
In a statement on Friday, the Civil Defense said that only a limited number of aid trucks have entered the enclave, barely covering the minimum needs of a population already suffering under extreme hardship. It added that many homes remain in ruins, bodies are still trapped beneath the rubble, and roads are blocked by debris while rescue teams continue to work with minimal resources amid massive destruction.
The Civil Defense called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to urgently launch reconstruction efforts, clear the rubble from the devastated areas, and allow the entry of heavy equipment and machinery to open roads and recover the dead in an attempt to ease the ongoing human suffering across the Strip.
It stressed that Israel’s continued obstruction of the entry of essential rescue and reconstruction equipment has deepened the humanitarian crisis, hindered the work of field teams, and left countless families trapped in catastrophic conditions marked by collapsing infrastructure, health risks, and the absence of shelter.
Despite the relentless efforts of its crews under severely limited means, the Civil Defense underscored that the scale of destruction demands immediate international intervention. It urged all concerned parties to facilitate the entry of heavy engineering equipment through border crossings without restriction or delay, and to ensure the establishment of safe humanitarian corridors for rescue teams and medical personnel in devastated areas.
The statement also called for urgent logistical and financial support to remove debris, recover bodies, and rehabilitate essential infrastructure, while guaranteeing legal and humanitarian protection for all field workers, including Civil Defense personnel.
Finally, the Civil Defense reaffirmed its full readiness to cooperate with international bodies and humanitarian organizations to save lives and restore what the war has destroyed in Gaza.
