Rafah Crossing Remains Closed as Israel Defies Ceasefire Terms

Gaza Herald – In a blatant violation of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire, Israel continues to keep the Rafah border crossing completely sealed, blocking lifesaving humanitarian aid and preventing thousands of wounded and displaced Palestinians from leaving Gaza.

The closure has left medical evacuations suspended and halted the flow of food, fuel, and medical supplies, worsening Gaza’s already catastrophic conditions.

The ceasefire agreement, signed last week between Hamas and Israel, explicitly required the immediate reopening of Rafah Crossing to allow humanitarian convoys and medical transfers as part of the first phase of the deal.

However, Israel has defied those terms, using the bodies of dead captives as a pretext to prolong the closure and tighten its genocidal siege. Humanitarian agencies warn that Israel’s continued obstruction could push Gaza’s population deeper into famine and mark yet another step in the ongoing genocide against Palestinians.
