Israeli Soldier Killed, 11 Wounded, and 4 Missing in Gaza Ambushes

Gaza Herald – Israeli media reported the death of several soldiers, with 11 others seriously wounded and four missing, feared to have been captured by the resistance. Israeli outlets described the incident as the most significant since the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation.

The neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun and Al-Sabra witnessed a series of resistance operations, beginning with an offensive ambush that killed several soldiers, according to Israeli media. They confirmed that the Israeli army activated the so-called “Hannibal Protocol,” which authorizes killing soldiers to prevent their capture.

Evacuation helicopters came under heavy fire, and it is believed that forces from the 162nd Division and the 401st Brigade were the ones ambushed in Al-Zaytoun, east of Gaza.

Israeli media said the army began withdrawing its forces from Al-Zaytoun and returning them to their bases, while military censorship imposed a news blackout regarding what happened to the four soldiers in the area.

Reports also indicated that another group of soldiers came under attack in Al-Zaytoun, leading to another serious security incident. Preliminary information suggested the army had to call in helicopters multiple times to evacuate the wounded under intense gunfire.

“Death or Captivity”

Israeli outlets confirmed that the army is searching for the four missing soldiers in Al-Zaytoun, with extensive search operations underway.

Military helicopters reportedly transported the wounded to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, Al Jazeera correspondents reported that Israeli fighter jets were flying at low altitudes amid heavy artillery shelling east of Gaza City.

Military censorship enforced a news blackout on the incident involving the four soldiers in Al-Zaytoun. Later, Al-Qassam Brigades released an image with the message: “We remind those who forget… death or captivity.”

News of Israeli military casualties continues to emerge hours after the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced a series of operations against Israeli forces and vehicles in recent days.

These developments come after Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, warned that Israeli forces would pay a heavy price if they attempted to invade Gaza City.
