Israeli Strategy: Denying Responsibility for Gaza’s Starvation

Gaza Herald—Israeli political analyst Ori Goldberg explained that Israel’s approach to Gaza’s starvation crisis centers on refusing any accountability.

“The only way most Israelis view this is by firmly insisting that every death in Gaza is the fault of Hamas, not Israel,” Goldberg said. He added that this mindset doesn’t just apply to starvation but also to “the daily bombings and massacres” carried out in the enclave.

Tight Control Over Aid and Supplies

Goldberg stressed that Israel maintains near-total control over what enters Gaza.

“Virtually everything that isn’t smuggled in is regulated by Israel,” he said, pointing to arbitrary restrictions—like allowing coriander on one day and banning it the next.

According to him, these tactics are meant to “pile obstacle upon obstacle” to block humanitarian aid from reaching civilians in desperate need.

Call for Accountability

These revelations highlight a deliberate strategy that leaves ordinary Palestinians paying the price. By denying responsibility and controlling aid at every step, Israel deepens the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. The international community must confront this reality and push for immediate, unrestricted access to food and medicine to protect innocent lives.
