Gaza Herald- At least 12 Palestinian civilians were killed and dozens more were wounded on Friday morning after Israeli occupation forces bombed a school sheltering displaced people in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.
Medical sources affirmed that 12 bodies and many wounded were initially pulled from the rubble after Israeli artillery shelled the courtyard of the Amr Ibn Al-As School with two shells. The school was housing many displaced families in and around Sheikh Radwan.
The source added that Israeli forces continued to bomb the area surrounding the school, where a large number of tents for the displaced were also located, firing approximately four additional artillery shells, resulting in even more casualties.
This brutal attack comes as occupation forces intensify their barbaric bombardment of Gaza City and its neighborhoods, announcing preparations for a criminal assault dubbed “Gideon Chariots 2,” in blatant disregard for international, human rights, and local warnings of the catastrophic consequences of such an operation.
On August 8, 2025, the Israeli government approved a plan proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to gradually re-occupy the entire Gaza Strip, starting with Gaza City.
Since August 11, the Israeli army has launched a large-scale assault on the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City, involving the demolition of homes using rigged robots, artillery bombardment, indiscriminate gunfire, and forced displacement, part of an Israeli strategy to reclaim control over what remains of the Gaza Strip.
