Minimal Aid Reaches Gaza as Just 36 Trucks Enter on Saturday

Gaza Herald- Only 36 aid trucks entered Gaza on Saturday, despite the humanitarian situation in the enclave worsening, Palestinian officials have warned.

Officials reported that at least 600 truckloads of aid are required daily to meet the needs of the starving population, adding: “The needs of the population are worsening.”

According to the Gazan government’s media office, most of the humanitarian supplies were looted and stolen “as a result of the state of security chaos that the Israeli occupation systematically and deliberately perpetuates.”

The office blamed the unexcused international silence, stating: “Famine is ravaging Gaza’s children amid shameful international silence,” and called for “the immediate opening of the crossings and the entry of sufficient quantities of aid and baby formula.”

Last week, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) warned that one-third of Gaza’s population had gone without food for several consecutive days as a result of the Israeli siege.

The WFP estimates that one in four Palestinians in Gaza is facing famine-like conditions, with 100,000 women and children suffering from acute malnutrition.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has carried out a brutal offensive on Gaza, killing more than 60,300 Palestinians. The relentless bombardment has devastated the enclave and caused severe food shortages.
