Israeli Assaults Leave Dozens Killed Across Gaza, Including Aid Seekers

GAZA– At least 39 Palestinians were killed and dozens more wounded on Wednesday as Israeli occupation forces launched a series of deadly attacks spanning the entire Gaza Strip—from the north to the far south. Among the victims were 15 civilians who had gathered to receive humanitarian aid.

Eyewitnesses and medical sources reported that Israeli airstrikes and gunfire struck residential homes, makeshift shelters for the displaced, and aid distribution sites in several cities including Deir al-Balah, Rafah, Gaza City, and Khan Yunis.

In one of the bloodiest incidents, five people waiting for aid were killed in western Rafah. Another bombing in Deir al-Balah hit a group of civilians, claiming the lives of five more. In Khan Yunis, Israeli strikes on tents housing displaced families killed 12 people in three separate incidents, with further attacks in Al-Mawasi killing two and injuring more.

Central Gaza also came under fire: 10 Palestinians were killed and more than 50 injured when Israeli forces opened fire on crowds gathered for aid on Salah al-Din Street and in the Netzarim corridor. Three more civilians were killed in Gaza’s city center, and two additional bodies were pulled from rubble on the eastern edge of Khan Yunis.

In Gaza City, an airstrike on an apartment building in Al-Tuffah’s Al-Mashhara neighborhood left eight wounded, while the nearby Al-Zaytoun area experienced heavy bombardment throughout the night.

These attacks come amid a war that Palestinian officials and humanitarian groups have described as genocidal—now nearing its second year. The campaign has been marked by widespread destruction, ongoing displacement, and deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure.

The humanitarian toll continues to mount. On Tuesday, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that since May 27, at least 600 Palestinians have been killed and 4,278 injured in attacks on U.S.-Israeli coordinated aid distribution centers. What should be lifelines have instead become sites of mass casualties.

The UN stated that roughly 1,500 additional families have recently fled their homes due to intensified attacks and new evacuation orders, especially in northern and eastern Gaza. UNRWA estimates that 82% of the Gaza Strip is now under evacuation orders, with nowhere left for residents to find safety as shelters, hospitals, and schools have been decimated or targeted.

Adnan Abu Hasna, a spokesperson for UNRWA, referred to the latest events as “a new wave of mass displacement” driven by ongoing Israeli military operations.

“The situation in Gaza is beyond desperate,” said a humanitarian worker from Deir al-Balah. “People are dying while trying to access food or refuge. There are no warnings, no safe zones—just death.”

With aid corridors repeatedly attacked and civilians systematically targeted, Gaza’s 2.2 million residents remain trapped in an increasingly unlivable war zone, enduring relentless violence and mounting devastation.
